In our latest work, published in Science, we explore a novel approach to remote C–H activation through distal acidification. Therein, the interaction of a suitable C–H bond with an ideally positioned positive charge enables a transannulation reaction through remote proton elimination. Detailed experimental work was complemented with enlightening computational studies.
